Around  67 differently abled persons on Sunday received free modular artificial limbs at a distribution camp organised by Shree Agarwal Sabha in association with S C Agarwal Charitable Trust in Chennai.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Justice Dr  P Jothimani, Judicial Member of National Green Tribunal, New Delhi, said that everyone was equal before the god.

“Life is very short. What gives fame to a person is not the period that he had lived in this world, but his services to society that brought a change in humanity,” he said.

Citing Swami Vivekananda’s sayings, he lauded the services of philanthropists, whose assistance helped needy people to lead a better life.

Stressing that several differently abled people were more confident and came out in flying colours when compared to people without any disabilities, he observed that disability was not a deterrent to success.

Speaking on the occasion, S C Agarwal stressed the elimination of disabilities, which was possible if people collectively worked towards this cause.

“Though some disabilities are natural, people should be cautious and avoid road accidents, which are one of the major causes of disabilities. Differently abled people should stay confident to fight all odds in their lives to emerge victorious,” he said.
