BHOPAL: A mining plan cell has been constituted in Directorate of Geology and Mining. Superintendent Geology NK Hans has been appointed as the in-charge of the cell constituted to give recognition to qualified persons.

According to authorities, the cell will accord recognition to persons qualified to prepare mining plan as per amendments made to Madhya Pradesh Minor Minerals Rules-1996. Recognition will be given by Directorate of Geology and Mining.

Director of Geology and Mining VK Austin said that in compliance with the Supreme Court’s order dated February 27, 2012, the State Government has effected amendments to Madhya Pradesh Minor Minerals Rules-1996.

As per amendments, mining and mining schemes have been made mandatory in all the mines. Registration of qualified persons will be done in the directorate itself. For this, identity cards of qualified persons will also be prepared apart from issuance of separate documents.

The cell constituted to accord recognition also includes Deputy Director Technical Shakeel Ahmad Khan, Assistant Geologist Vikas Soni, Map Officer RK Mahajan, Assistant Draftsman Kameshwari Mandra and Suresh Sondhiya.
